Similar to car insurance, when you have an incident where, for example, you break your leg, you pay your initial amount (UA) of $1,500 if that's what you choose and the rest is paid by the plan. The initial amount is paid per incident, and you pay a maximum of 2 per year. For example: you have a kidney stone and end up in hospital, you pay an initial amount of $1,500. If in the same year you also break your leg, you pay the initial amount of $1,500 again. A maximum of two initial payments are made per year, so you can plan very well financially. What's more, many doctors and hospitals pay these fees in 24 installments.

The initial amount is also valid for symptoms, for example you start to feel pain in your knee and go to the doctors, you cover up to $1,500 and the plan covers the rest.
